Happy Halloween!
Happy Halloween! Even though Halloween was 3 days ago. I just wanted to share our pumpkins with you guys. Check em out.
A Fabulous Steal!
I was recently at the Midway Antique Mall located at 5130 Madison Ave., Sacramento, CA 95841 and I was mesmerized by how big this antique mall was. I was in there for 2 hours and that's because I was skimming through the mall quickly before I had to go to work. There was TONS to look at! I strongly recommend this antique mall to anyone who likes antiques! So I stumbled upon a vendor inside the mall who had a HUGE selection of the vintage 1950's bar ware. It was so hard to choose what I wanted and then I find out that the vendor was aslo giving an additional 20% off all items. This is what I ended up choosing:
Set of 4 Culver tumblers- $12
Set of 6 Culver Florentine Fruit Lowball Glasses- $24
Pimm's Cocktail
So this recipe is my own version of a Pimm's cup. I hope you like it!
Pimm's Cup:
3 oz (2 shots) Pimm's No. 1 liquor
1 Tbsp of Lime juice
Lime or Lemon slices
Lemon Lime soda
In a glass filled ice, combine Pimm's No. 1 liquor, lime juice, 2 slices of lime or lemon and mix. Fill the rest of your glass with the lemon lime soda and enjoy! Pimm's No. 1 liquor is a little on the sweet side so all the citrus in this cocktail really balances the sweetness perfectly.

This is my baby and his name is Derrick. He is a year and a half old ferret and a bundle of joy.
Derrick lets us place random object in his hands.

My New/Old Bar Cart!
I went to an estate sale this past Friday looking for more vintage glassware and I found this old and rusted bar cart for $3! What a steal!
I washed, sanded and gave it a fresh coat of gold paint.

A 1950's Glassware Hunt
So I recently started watching this awesome YouTube channel called "A Fab Life" with hosts Leah and Mary. I was immediately addicted to this channel and all the other channels that Leah and Mary make appearances on. These women are so funny and extremely creative with their fashion, design and style. I love everything about them. So as I was watching a "Tipsy Tuesday" marathon Monday night and I noticed that Leah and Mary were drinking out of vintage 1950's glasses with gold accents and I absolutely fell in love with the glassware! I could not research their glassware fast enough. I grew up shopping at antique stores and thrift stores with my mother and I know I have seen this glassware previously there. The next day, I went to three thrift stores after work and had no luck finding any vintage glasses. Wednesday I went to three antique stores and one thrift store and I came back empty handed. Thursday I searched the internet for vintage glassware and I learned that if I am going to buy vintage glassware online, it is primarily sold on Ebay. I was really taken back by the price of the glasses and the shipping charged by most folks on Ebay so I held off on buying anything. Friday goes by and all I can think of are gold accent glassware. I called my grandmother, who loves thrift stores and antiques, and I asked her to keep an eye out for my glassware. Then on Saturday, I went to 5 garage sales and found NOTHING. So I decided to go to the antique stores in the city next to mine. I went through three antique stores with a fine- tooth comb and still nothing. Then in my fourth antique store, in the back of a bookshelf, I saw heaven in a glass form. I had finally found six beautiful gold accent water glasses from the 50's for $15! Needless to say, I bought them. I went to the antique store next door and found five gold accent juice glasses for $10! My law of averages finally kicked in! I was ecstatic! I bought my treasures, brought them home, washed and displayed my lovely new/old glasses. I can truly say I hunted high and low for them. Thanks for reading! Have a great day!
